SouthTown Recreation Area Park Features
Newly constructed Vista Park includes a scenic dog park for community members to enjoy. The dog park includes a small dog area, large dog area, water feature, dog wash station, sitting rocks, and beautiful views in all directions! Take your companion on a long hike on the trails, or take off the leash and let’em run and socialize at the dog park!
Named after the thorny locust trees found across the disc golf area, the 9 hole Par 31 Black Locust Disc Golf course provides a woody creek backdrop to tossing discs. Course length: 3,645lf, average hole distance: 405lf.
Vista Park features a large splash pad design, enormous play structure, turf sitting areas, restroom facility, and connectivity to hiking trails. The children can cool off and play while parents relax and take in the beautiful timber views.
The North Ridge Trail is an existing aggregate surfaced trail that connects Vista Park to Oak Hill Park. Along the way you will find off-shoot natural surface hiking opportunities located within the old growth timber. The North Ridge Trail Loop: approximately 1.50 miles.
Oak Hill Park is an existing water feature with walking trails that is currently in the planning and design stage to transform this stunning natural setting into a feature to be enjoyed by the community. Oak Hill Park will be closed to Swimming until park improvements have been made to ensure that safety and usability is brought up to community standards.
The Westwood Trail is an existing natural surfaced trail that connects Vista Park to the Westwood Hiking area consisting of approximately 15 acres of timber and hiking trails. Westwood trail loop distance: approximately 1.25 miles
